Provides bare fibers in a loose tube, flooded with a water blocking gel to prevent environmental damage to the fiber. Available in high fiber counts at a relatively low cost per fiber. Labor intensive termination, (to remove all of the gel), and requires break-out kits to protect the bare fibers at the point of termination. Designed for outdoor use, plenum cable is unavailable.
Tight buffered cable for aerial applications. Dry outdoor cable with a steel messenger for running between telephone poles. DISTRIBUTION (900 MICRON TIGHT BUFFERED)
Available in PVC or Plenum rated jacket, each fiber is coated with a 900 micron buffer. Available in high fiber counts and sub-bundled designs where 6 or 12 fibers can form a sub-unit in a larger fiber cable. Termination does not require break-out kits, and is accomplished much faster than termination of loose-tube cable. Available in indoor and indoor/outdoor cable. BREAK-OUT (TIGHT BUFFERED INDIVIDUALLY JACKETED
Available in PVC or Plenum rated jacket. Each fiber is buffered and cabled with tensioned kevlar, then it is individually jacketed like a simplex cable, and jacketed with an outer sheath. Typically used in fiber counts up to 24 strands, break-out cable is perfect for severe duty applications, and it is the most "robust" and easiest of all types to connectorize. Available in indoor and indoor/outdoor cable.
Available in PVC and Plenum rated jacket. Jumper cord is available in simplex, (one fiber) or duplex, (two fibers), and is usually used in patching applications. The duplex fiber is referred to commonly as "zipcord", because the design is very similar to lamp cord that can be peeled apart at the seam. Jumper cord is designed to be flexible without a lot of memory, to work well in patch panels and racks where wire management is a concern. Each of these styles come in a range of packaging options with different jacketing, varying number of fibers, glass performance options, fire and smoke resistance, operating temperature ranges, etc... We are expert at determining the right fiber for your application.
